The Custom Process

To help our creative process run smoothly, we’ve put together some simple Terms & Conditions for all custom commissions - outlining payment, timelines, and how we’ll work together.

Process & Waitlist
  • There is usually a 2–3 week wait before we begin new commissions, as we work through a current list of projects.

  • We will keep you updated on progress and timeframes as your commission approaches.

Payment

  • A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in the queue.

  • The balance is due upon completion, before final files/artwork are released.

  • Payment is required in full once an invoice has been issued.

Revisions & Changes

  • Your commission includes up to two rounds of revisions.

  • Additional changes outside this scope may incur extra costs.

Usage

  • Commissioned artwork is for personal or agreed project use only.

  • If you require additional usage rights (e.g., for large-scale publishing or merchandise), this must be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

Copyright & Ownership

  • TP Illustration and Design retains copyright of all artwork created.

  • You may not reproduce, alter, or resell the artwork without written consent.

Creative Process 

  • Creative mahi takes time and cannot be rushed, as each piece is carefully developed to honour the kaupapa and vision of the work, with deadlines discussed to ensure adequate time for the process.
