The phrase "You may not know your Maunga, but your Maunga knows you" was shared by Rawiri Waititi and forms part of a wider kōrero that speaks to our enduring connections with our maunga, awa, and reo. These words remind us that even when we feel disconnected from our cultural identity, the places, stories, and whakapapa that we come from continue to hold and recognise us.
